POST MART....(Words fail me......but still....)

"Why is the number of replaceable hydronium ions called as the BASICITY of an acid and not its acidity?"

The above question totally changed the course of my life.I never thought that my brain could churn out an answer to such a question.I say so because even today, when the same teacher asks the same question to young brains sitting in the room where I sat once, there are blank faces and those who dare to answer, arent even close to getting it right.

I still remeber the correct answer, which brewed in my brain out of no-where.It is called the basicity because the number of replaceable hydronium ions is the capacity of how well it can neutralise the base, thereby giving it the name BASICITY OF AN ACID.

If you still wonder how can such timid act of intelligence be a life changer, then you are not to be blamed as it is a natural reaction............................

I had left Mart and joined St Paul's Academy at Ghaziabad.
I was a well to do student with an above average scoring abilities and all the skills that may be required to fulfill the expectations of an ordinary middle class parents.I played more and studied less still I scored more and bothered less.Everything was going on effortlessly butter-smooth,until one day,my tutuion teacher asked me the above question and he eventually REDISCOVERED me.

He never imagined that one could possibly answer it as none before me were able to satisfy his query and hence it was his firm belief that only the Einstein or Newton of today can answer it.So,to his surprise,he thought that he had got hold of some genius.Like an ideal mentor, he told me to leap into a battle which was meant for such Einsteins and Newtons only.
The battleground was KOTA and the reward of the winner was the prestigious IITs.To my great amazement,I was able to enter the warzone but was quite unsure of my worth as a Warrior.

Like Arjun,I had the right guidance of Dronacharya. My MASTERS were the best in the country.IITians themselves, they were the best faculty of BANSAL CLASSES.But then,I guess I was no Arjun at all.

Intial days were quite enthusiastic.Like the newly wed couple on a honeymoon,I and my books had a good time together.I had married three brides namely PHYSICS,CHEMISTRY and MATHEMATICS.Just as the new bride, the questions in my assignments would also seem unfamiliar but still quite alluring and I would easily coax into their solutions.Especially the Physics lady. The Mathematics was never my favourite but i feel backstabbed by Chemistry.
